hi friends. it's been awhile since anyone has posted. i can't believe yesterday was thanksgiving. kimbo is almost back, ashley is about to graduate!, and mandi is almost halfway done with the forge. and i'm... working. :)

this fall has just been hard overall (as suggested by my previous posts). it's been full of good things though; the Lord has been teaching me so much about obedience, about intimacy with him alone, and about his kingdom advancing around the world. my perspective has truly been changed; God is changing my heart, and i honestly just don't know what to do with it.

i also had a friend from australia that i met in france stay with me for about 2 months off and on. very unexpected, but so cool that the Lord knew it all along, and knew he wanted to teach me through it. i realized how selfish i am, and what it means to show true hospitality. she is an amazing follower of the Lord and i really learned so much from her. it was good to have her here.

amidst these good things, i continously feel lonely. lonely for true companionship and for a community of prayer and accountability. honestly, i really miss our house, and the daily encouragement of watching you all live your lives so intentionally and lovingly. not perfectly though :) - we definitely saw each others worsts. but that was the beauty of it.

you can pray for my roommates, and for the friendships that are forming here with others. i daily need to pray for boldness and for purpose there. i can't tell you how easy it is to come home from work, tired, and just lounge every day. that is NOT what we are called to.

my heart for the poor, for the broken and misunderstood, for those burnt by the church, is growing. i daily think about moving out of my apt and living among people that desperately need to see the love of Jesus. then i just feel stuck.

the Lord is good and He is faithful. i was thinking about the title of this blog, "always good". honestly sometimes lately i don't feel like the Lord is good. i feel overwhelmed by the brokenness of this world, by the darkness of our country, by the way i feel alone and unheard.

Jesus you are good to us. You have overcome this world, and you desperately want us to seek you alone. Jesus guide each of us, as we search and seek and long to follow and please you. When we turn to the right or left, tell us "this is the way, walk in it".

miss you all,
root
